Meditation for Weight Loss!

Happy #WellnessWednesday! We are halfway through the week and I hope you all doing wonderful! For Wellness Wednesday I want to talk about meditation and how it can impact your weight loss results! I talk a lot with my clients about mindful eating, and being mindful but what does that really mean? How can that make a difference to your weight loss success? Well let me ask you this.. How satisfied do you feel quickly eating something while you are driving? Did you enjoy it? Did it taste good? Are you full? Usually you ate it so distracted that you don’t even enjoy the food! When you eat distract you tend to eat more, because you eat faster, which means that your brain doesn’t get to catch up! Which is where mindfulness meditation comes in! This means that you stay mindful during the day and especially when you are eating! This will not only help with you waist line, but with everything in life. Cutting out the multi tasking and absentmindedness will help you enjoy your life so much more! When you sit and take time to eat and really notice what you are eating you’ll be more likely to make healthy choices and eat appropriate portions! When you are more mindful and aware, you’ll also notice why. Why are you choosing to eat certain things at certain times! This will help reduce your emotional eating and stress eating. You’ll start to string together that maybe in the afternoon your energy levels dip so you reach for carbs, when maybe you don’t need that. Or when you get stressed before a big meeting you quickly stuff that emotion with food, instead of taking a few calming breaths and reminding yourself that you can do it!

#WellnessWednesday Meditation

I encourage you today to sit and quiet your mind, take some deep breaths and think about your goals. Think about what you are doing to get closer to them, and what you are not doing to get closer them. The more you can still your mind, the more the answer will come! Meditating will also you relax and feel less stressed so that you can better handle the obstacles that come in your path!
