Why did you get into the health/fitness industry?

I’ve always loved being active and engaging in sports and fitness. I also love learning about the human body’s amazing design and abilities. My kinesiology degree instilled a passion within me to lead a healthy lifestyle and guide others on their journey to better health. As a fitness trainer it is rewarding to know that I am able to help people take care of their bodies and make positive changes in their lives.

What is your favourite exercise?

Pull-ups!

What is your tip to beat food cravings and your tip to stay motivated?

Don’t keep any junk food in the house. Plan your week’s meals in advance and stick to it!

Motivation: Having realistic goals and a proper mindset is so important. See healthy nutrition and fitness as a lifelong journey. Try to eat and exercise in a way that you can     maintain for the long term. Surround yourself with like-minded people and those who will cheer you on!

What is your favourite activity outside of the studio/what you like to do to relax or unwind?

I LOVE jigsaw puzzles. They are a bit of an addiction for me so I limit myself to one per year. I will sit there for hours and hours working on it. A few years ago I started working on one at 8pm and didn’t stop until 6am! Needless to say I was exhausted at work and school that day.

Tell us some fun facts about you!

I was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada when I was 6.

I’m getting married in July!

I’m planning to do my Master’s in Occupational Therapy in September and would love to one day have my own paediatric occupational therapy practice.

I love funk & disco!
