#SetItUpSunday You are what you Eat!

We’ve all heard the old adage ‘you are what you eat’, but have you ever stopped to think how very true that is? Put simply, healthy eating is the key to wellbeing. We all have up to 100 trillion cells in our bodies, each one demanding a constant supply of nutrients daily in order to function optimally. Food affects all of these cells, and by extension, every aspect of our being: mood, energy levels, food cravings, thinking capacity, sex drive, sleeping habits and general health. If you feed your body junk and convenience foods it’ll simply lay down fat, lower your energy, even your brain power.

This week we challenge you to really think about what you are eating and how it affecting the function of your body! When you eat a protein rich breakfast, do you feel more energized and satisfied? Versus when you eat a carb dense meal and later feel drowsy.

One easy way to fuel your cells and help to create a stronger more thriving body is to get more alkalizing food in!

Alkalizing food helps to decrese inflammation (Hello joint pain!), is higher in antioxidants (Slow down that aging!!), higher in fibre (Helps with weight loss!) and higher in vitamins and minerals! The positives go on and on!!

So this week as you eat, think “This is rebuilding my cells, am I happy about what those cells will become?” and make your choices from that thought!
